·         Widely acclaimed as America’s greatest living Golf Course Architect

·         Has most credits among living on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses & Golfweeks collection of America’s best

·         Won the Golf Digest poll for Best Modern Day Golf Course Architect which was discontinued after Tom won it 3 times in a row

·         Became only the 2^nd course architect to receive the highest recognition awarded by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America – The Old Tom Morris Award in 1995

·         Chosen to rework America’s most famous golf course, Augusta National prior to 2002 Masters Tournament as well as other world renowned courses such as WingedFoot, Pine Valley the iconic Irish masterpiece Watervile and more

·         Won the Golf Digest “Best New Course”  award 3 times for Wade Hampton , Black Diamond Ranch & Country Club & Shadow Creek Golf Club

Tom Schafer (football) – Upper Merion High School

Unsung Hero

Robert A. Glascott – Intramural & Club Sports Director, Track & Field Official

After graduating from Roman Catholic High where he participated in football, basketball & track and field, Bob attended the University of Tennessee, graduating in 1958, where he continued his athletic career in track & field and football, playing in the Sugar Bowl (1957) & the Gator Bowl (1958). US Army from 1959 - 61 where he became assistant football coach and head coach of track and field.  He became a special education teacher at Kenderton School in Phila., (1961-67) and was an assistant football coach and indoor track head coach at Monsignor Bonner High (1962-64) before doing the same at Bishop Kennedy High (1966-71). He served as assistant director of the department of PE at the University of Pennsylvania (1967-70) then became Director of Intramurals & Sports Clubs programs (1970-85) & Intramural Recreation Sports Director from 1985 to retirement in 1996. Bob also was an official in Track & Field from 1963 - 71 in high school & college dual meets, Penn Relays, Catholic League championships, Inter. AC Championships, PIAA District One Championships, Suburban One and many more top level meets. Bob’s professional memberships & certifications are too numerous to list but include National Recreation & Parks Assoc., National Intramural Recreation Sport Assoc., Phila. Track Officials Club & the Mid Atlantic AAU Track & Field Official.
